November 5-7, 2026: The 28th International Dalton Congress
Dalton International is honoured to announce the 28th International Dalton Congress, hosted by Shenzhen Nanshan Dalton Xinhua School. This year’s theme-Unveiling Agency: Global Dalton Student Voices in Motion- invites a deep international conversation on how Dalton schools cultivate student agency as a core educational value.
The programme brings together leaders, researchers and practitioners from Dalton communities across Asia, Europe, Australia and the United States to explore how agency is enacted, nurtured and sustained in diverse educational contexts.
Programme Overview
5 November — School Immersion Day
A full-day introduction to the host school, featuring guided classroom visits, student-led presentations, learning labs, mixed-age groups and an overview of localised Dalton practices that foster agency in daily learning.
6 November — Congress Day
A full programme of keynotes, international contributions, Chinese Dalton leadership perspectives, a global panel on student agency, and parallel workshops. The day highlights how agency emerges at the intersection of pedagogy, culture, leadership and student voice.
7 November — Cultural & Touristic Day
A curated Shenzhen experience, concluding with a traditional tea ceremony hosted by the Parent–School Alliance — a cultural reflection on community, belonging and shared responsibility.
